Greetings, gentle
readers...
I'm a fanfic writer and substitue
teacher.
I've been a fan of the show since Season
4.
My daughter was the first to become
enamored of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Spike. Then the bug bit me,
too!
Got me like nothing else ever has before
or since.
I think that in particular, Spike's
journey from bloody awful poet and Victorian innocent, to a ruthless
vampire, (though always, always Love's Bitch) then becoming
chipped by the initiative, to his looking for redemption in Buffy's
eyes, and finally to winning his soul back, has been nothing less
than a hero's journey of epic proportions.
James Marsters brings his wonderful
acting skills to the screen each week, giving Spike a heart and
soul that has launched 10,000 'ships' and fantasies. He's the
ultimate bad-boy with a heart of gold underneath.
Who can resist him? Obviously not me,
and obviously not you either, if you're here reading
this!
I had the pleasure of meeting him once
(see update below) in 2001 (GenCon) and saw him (though didn't talk
to him) at Buffy Bash in Chicago that same year. He's very charming
and nice in person, which is the only reason he is the only person I
have ever stood in line to meet. Even when I lived in California, I
was never wowed much by stars and all that. But he just doesn't come
across like that. He's very humble in person. He's also very funny,
wicked, and sexy as he jokes with and plays the audience like a
violin, or in his case, guitar.
Lucky me, I'm going to see him this
April in Cleveland and again in Chicago (and to see GoTR perform!) a
few weeks later. Life is Good!
UPDATE: 5/14/03

CLEVELAND CON links for complete stories of my encounters with
James this past weekend and a couple of weeks ago in
Cleveland.
